Indications, posology and method of administration
THERAPEUTIC INDICATIONS
Paracetamol is a mild analgesic and antipyretic, and is recommended for the treatment of most pain and fever conditions, for example, headache including migraine, tension headache, toothache, backache, joint and muscle pain, dysmenorrhea, sore throat and fever, pain in flu. Paracetamol is also recommended for the symptomatic relief of pain from non-severe arthritis.
POSOLOGY AND METHOD OF ADMINISTRATION
Posology
Adults
Two tablets up to four times daily.
Children aged 6 – 12 years
Half to one tablet of paracetamol 500 mg each time, 3 – 4 times/day. Do not use for children under 6 years. Do not exceed three days in children unless indicated by a physician.
Renal failure patient
In children, ClCr < 10 ml/min, administered every 8 hours. In adults, ClCr 10 – 50 ml/min, administered every 6 hours, ClCr < 10 ml/min administered every 8 hours.
Hepatic failure patient
Use with caution and low dose. Avoid prolonged use.
Method of administration
For oral use.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to paracetamol or any of the other constituents.
Severe liver impairment.
